# What's new in version 2?

> Key improvements and new features in the Company V2 API.

### Restful structure designed for clarity

Our new API more closely follows standard restful design patterns, with simpler routes and endpoints. We have also improved the data model, removing legacy fields. Overall our API is much clearer and easier to use.

### Metadata and cost tracking

In V2 we have introduced a metadata wrapper for every call, which includes a unique `correlationId` and where applicable confirmation of credits that have been spent.

### KyckrId simplifies API requests

The `kyckrId` uniquely identifies a company and replaces the `codeField` from V1. It includes the ISO code, so there is no need to pass the ISO code as a parameter after using the search API.

### New test sandbox

The V2 sandbox allows testing of all API functions using sample data for over 750 companies across 50 of the most frequently used jurisdictions.
